Alphabet Art & Crafts Fine Motor Preschool Toddler Crafts Toddlers

A is for Alien Craft

Happy Fine Motor Friday! It’s good for toddlers and preschooler to do a variety of fine motor activities. Having different activities helps work different fine motor muscles and hand coordination which is necessary for handwriting. Fine Motor Fridays is all about giving you a bunch of ideas to do with your little ones! Be sure to check out activities from our co-hosts at the end of this post!

Over the month of January, we’ve done a variety of space themed fine motor activities, including Smashing ABC Moon Rocks, creating a Fine Motor Space Alien, and mark making in the Moon Dust Writing Tray. This week I am sharing a cute A is for Alien craft that is perfect for working on fine motor skills with toddlers and preschoolers.

A is for Alien Craft for kids is a fun way to work on fine motor skills with toddlers and preschoolers, as well as encourage alphabet recognition! | Fine Motor Fridays at Stir the Wonder

To set up this adorable craft all you need is a few basic supplies:

  • green construction paper
  • white construction paper
  • pipe cleaners
  • googly eyes
  • glue

Once you have collected all your supplies, prepare the craft by cutting a large letter ‘A’ out of the green construction paper. Then cut one pipe cleaner in half and shape into alien antennas. Use the other pipe cleaners to create alien arms. I used neon pipe cleaners (provided by Craft Project Ideas) which I think adds a nice touch.

I then set Caden up with a tray and let him get creative and work his fine motor muscles! As you can see in the picture above, Caden was all about the glue! He also loved adding the googly eyes and other alien features! This is a really quick and simple craft, but it looks so adorable hanging up on our wall!

 HAPPY FINE MOTOR FRIDAY!
