LEGO Minifigures More, Less or Equal Math Game
Playing LEGO Minifigures More, Less or Equal is a simple way for kids to practice counting, subitising and comparing quantities. This LEGO activity requires some specific bricks, but don’t worry if you don’t have some of them. Just make do with what you have! Learning will take place anyway! ?
Supplies:
- 2 baseplates
- 12 LEGO minifigures
- number die
How to Prepare:
To prepare this math activity for your children first gather the necessary supplies. Then set up the two or more LEGO baseplates, the twelve or more minifigures and the dice on the table. Once the activity is all set up, invite the kids to play and learn with LEGO!
How to Play:
To play LEGO Minifigures More, Less or Equal have the children each take turns rolling the number die and counting out that many LEGO minifigures and standing them on their LEGO baseplate.
Children then count and compare the amount of LEGO minifigures on the baseplates and answer the questions about the number of minifigures on the baseplates.
Suggested questions include:
- How many LEGO Minifigures do you have on your baseplate?
- Which baseplate has more minifigures?
- Which baseplate has less minifigures?
- Do the baseplates have an equal amount of minifigures?
- How do you know?
