Summer Fun for Toddlers
Last summer I had yet to start this blog, but we did so many fun things with Caden that I wanted to share and give you some fun ideas to stir the wonder with your toddler(s)! I will start with the obvious-
Play Outside!
There are so many fun activities that you can do outside with toddlers, but you don’t have to plan something all the time. Toddlers are perfectly capable of making their own fun!
Caden loves to run around the yard pushing his cars and trucks. He picks up sticks and rocks, and checks out the ants. He gets so excited when an airplane flies overhead! He has so much fun outside doing his own thing that he asks to go outside almost as soon as his wakes up in the morning!
But if you need something to do outside you can…
Explore!
Go for a Bike Ride!
Safety first! Always place your toddler in a trusted child carrier and have them wear a helmet!
Go for a Walk!
Check out the Nature!
Get Creative Outside!
Do some finger painting!
Make sure to use non-toxic paint!
Create BIG art with a fly swatter!
The Big Messy Art Book by MaryAnn F. Kohl is full of fun art projects that are easy to clean up!
Or keep in clean by painting with water!
When its gets HOT you can…
Play with Water!
Play with water at the water table!
Add some shaving cream and cars for even more fun! And do a Shaving Cream Car Wash!
Play in the water with the sprinkler, kiddie pool, bucket or all of the above!
Have a Cozy Coupe Car Wash!
When it gets TOO hot you can…
Play Inside!
Do some yoga!
Draw on the windows (with window markers)!
Clean the house!
Give them a spray bottle, its funny!
Play trains!
Play with shaving cream!
Doodle on a dry erase board with markers!
Read books!
And don’t forget the ALWAYS fun…
Sensory Bins!
Last summer was our first time playing with sensory bins! Caden loved it! We started with a simple rice bin with an assortments of containers for pouring.
Then I created the original Insect Sensory Bin.
And we had TONS of fun with a water bead and fish sensory bin!
To make summer extra special and fun you can visit your…
Area Attractions!
Caden…
Went to the Zoo!
Spent a Day Out with Thomas!
Went to a Carnival! (sort of.)
Visited a Museum!
Visited a Petting Zoo!
Played at the Children’s Museum!
Went to a Touch a Truck event!
And went to the beach!
