This year’s homeschool plans include using Build Your Library Level 2. I like that it includes plans for history, science, literature, art, copywork, etc. But one thing that it doesn’t include but my son still needs is help with handwriting and letter formation. If you are in the Build Your Library Level 2 Facebook group there is a pdf of copywork sheets that someone made and shared that included all of the copywork with options for tracing, copying in primary lined paper and cursive. But it was made for the original version of Level 2 which has since been updated and includes some different literature and copywork selections. So I decided to create the pages we would need and share them on my website for anyone who needed them.
About the Copywork Pages
These copywork pages follow the selections used in Build Your Library Level 2 curriculum for the books: Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman, Wishtree by Katherine Applegate, The Mad Wolf’s Daughter by Diane Magras, and the poem “Who has Seen the Wind?” by Christina Rossetti. These pages are for print tracing on primary lines only. I did not create pages for italic print or cursive. If there is interest in copywork pages on lined paper or in cursive or italic please leave a comment to let me know and I will work on that.
How to Make a Copywork Workbook
To make our copywork workbook I printed the copywork pages found in the Build Your Library Level 2 Facebook group files and then printed the copywork pages I made, found below. I removed the pages not needed from the original copywork selections and inserted my own pages.
Then I used the Swingline GBC ProClick Binding System to punch holes along the edges and bound all the pages together with a sheet of cardstock for the back cover using the Binding Spines. This created a nice, spiral bound workbook that we can use all year long.
