My husband and I used to hang out at Colt State Park in Bristol, RI when we were dating in high school. It is such a beautiful park and I have many wonderful memories of being there. So one nice Spring afternoon I decided to take Caden there and let him loose to run around and explore! He loved it!
I parked the car directly across from this pier, so we explored that first. Caden leisurely walked along the boards, looking through the slats of the rails at the water below. At the end of the pier we spent some time watching the boats sail and jet skis zip by!
After we were done exploring the pier, we made our way towards this big grassy field right off the bay. In the summer time people love to sunbathe in the grass and fly kites. But while we were there, the seagulls were occupying the space.
Some other visitors were feeding breadcrumbs to the seagulls and Caden ran right towards the birds causing them to fly all around him! I was a little worried he would be attacked by the birds, but he has no fear! Not when it comes to birds at least!
After running around with the seagulls we made our way along a path towards the trees. Caden explored the trees and attempted to climb a really tall oak tree. He picked up sticks and poked them into the trees and stone wall. He watched the ants as they crawled around, and found a puffy dandelion to blow!
After we explored the field and the trees, we walked back to the car but not before I snapped a few more pictures of me and Caden. This park is a beautiful place to take pictures, many wedding parties come here to shoot wedding photos.
We really enjoyed exploring Colt State Park and we only saw a small part of the park! I plan to take Caden back later to do some more exploring! If you are ever in Rhode Island you should make your way to Bristol and check out the park. It is a really lovely place to have fun, catch some sun and relax!
