In August of 2020, my parents and I bought a property in rural Connecticut with dreams of starting a farm. The property originally came with four chickens in a small chicken coop, a small garden and lots of potential. In the last six months we have been preparing to add some baby goats and more chickens to our farm. Follow along here on our farm adventures.
In October of 2020, we added a large shed for our future goats. My dad built two lofts on either side for hay storage. We added electricity to the shed and fenced in an area of pasture.
Our farm adventures for this spring will include adding a new shed for a larger chicken coop. The chicks are scheduled to arrive in early May with the baby goats following at the end of the month. We are also planning to have a logging company come in to clear some land and thin out the old trees. This will be very beneficial in providing some much needed sunlight for the gardens.
