Kid Approved Travel Activities
We all know how valuable travel DVD players and tablets can be for parents, especially when traveling. But we don’t want our kids glued to screens during the entire traveling time. We’ve had great success keeping our son occupied with these screen-free activities!
Play Dough and Accessories – Seriously, play dough makes a wonderful activity for kids while traveling! It doesn’t make too much of a mess, provides sensory input and is endlessly creative! We have this little starter pack which is perfect for travel. It comes with its only little bag, some accessories and four cans of play doh. The bag is also roomy enough to pack some of your own favorite play dough accessories!
LEGO Juniors Suitcase – We love our LEGO Juniors Fire Suitcase! We’ve used it for play at home and on the road! And with our LEGO Suitcase Hack, it’s even better! With a simple change the LEGO Suitcase makes the perfect screen-free travel activity for kids!
Magic Ink Activity Books – These activity books are great for traveling because they are portable and can not make a mess! Younger kids will love just coloring on the pages to show hidden images. Older kids will love using the magic ink marker to solve puzzles! They are available in many characters, so you can find one for any child! We have the Ninja Turtles one and the Star Wars book.
Sticker Books – Sticker books are just awesome! They are a wonderful screen-free activity for kids on-the-go because there is a sticker book to appeal to every child’s interests. I love them because they are educational, mess-free and portable! They are also great for kids who might get motion sick by writing or drawing while traveling.
Highly Recommended Item
The number one item I recommend everyone bring along when traveling with kids is a cheap cookie tray! You can get as many as you need from your local Dollar Tree for one dollar each! You can use them for many activities, and as a lap table for holding snacks and food on the go! And the great thing about them is they are indestructible and when stacked they can be stored in the pocket behind the seat or under the seat, taking up hardly any space!
