So instead of writing out another blog post, I thought I would update via Facebook on how Caden’s OT is going, but it seems that not everyone was able to see that update. And since I would like to share with more people and get some more feedback, I guess I will post an update here too!
Caden’s occupational therapy is going great! Last week we had a good session with very little tears & he did everything the OT asked without too much coaxing. And yesterday (October 9th) he did even better! We have started doing the Wilbarger brushing every 3-4 hours during waking times, and he gave us no problems at all with this new sensory experience. In fact he was very interested as he watched the OT demonstrate on me. The best part about it is that I have already noticed a difference in his behavior. Now maybe that is because he is sleeping better than he has been in the last few weeks, but hey, I’ll take it! He seems much more relaxed and isn’t bouncing off the walls like he was last week! yay! Have you used the Wilbarger brushing method on your child(ren)? If so please share your experiences, I’d love to hear them!
