Open-ended play dough play inspired by Rescue Bots cartoon!

Today I am sharing a simple play dough activity! Inspiration stuck while Caden and I were watching our favorite show, Transformers Rescue Bots! In one episode it snows and the Rescue Bots have fun playing in the snow and Blades a Rescue Bot builds a snow bot! That is when I thought Caden would enjoy building his own snow bot using play dough!

So one morning I made some fresh white play dough and I rummaged through our craft supplies and pulled out various items that would be great to use with play dough to make snow bots! Some items that we used to make play dough snow bots were pipe cleaners (given to me by Craftprojectideas.com), beads, buttons, colorful craft sticks, large straws and foam shapes. Other items that would have been fun to use are hex nuts, metal washers, and large bolts.

Daddy was sick, so we left the house to let him rest and took our supplies and went to play at Grandma’s house. Caden had a lot of fun creating different snow bots. Sticking craft sticks and straws here and there.

And adding various colored googly eyes (also given to us by Craftprojectideas.com) to his snow bot. He even made a snow bot with wheels using a straw and two pouch caps on the ends!

I also had some fun creating cute little snow bots! I like this one with a heart bead for a nose and a sparkly purple curly antenna!

And Caden helped to make this little dude! With metallic bead buttons and a pouch cap hat! I am so glad I saved all those beads from my childhood! 😀

This was such a fun activity inspired by our favorite TV show! Caden played with it for a good about of time while at Grandma’s and has played with it more since then! What inspires your play?

Happy Fine Motor Friday!

Those bots are so cute! I love seeing the creative ways people use those pouch caps – we don’t get them but I almost want to start just for the cool caps! lol! 🙂
