Last week I wrote about Art Inspired by The Carrot Seed, this week I want to share a few simple math activities to do with carrots. All you need to do these activities are carrots and duplo legos (affiliate link). The first activity that we did with the carrots was count them, then we talked about small, medium and large and put them in order according to size. Finally we measured the carrots using the duplo legos.
Caden really enjoys measuring things so he had a really great time with this activity! Measuring with duplo legos is a hands-on way for young learners to count, one by one and actually see the measurement. Plus it’s great fine motor practice as well!
